In A Place by Steve Smyth [live session]
Steve Smyth is the missing generation between Tim Buckley and Jeff Buckley, even if he’s born after the two lads. In A Place has not a lot to compare with In My Place by Coldplay. I don’t know why I said that. Maybe only to reach the 300 words… But what is sure is that you will remember that song, and that guy from great Australian label Ivy League Records: Steve Smyth. With a Y.
Pariah by Ball Park Music
With Pariah (7’22 of happiness) and their just released album Every Night the Same Dream, Ball Park Music can pretend to be the perfect combination between Deerhunter (drums, the same ability to break the rhythm, epic instrumental bridges) and Radiohead (voice, these chords out of nowhere, variations of melody), with a special touch of psychedelic music. Our favourite Australian band so far? Probably. And Ball Park Music come to The Triffid (Newstead) the 24-25 September. Sorry guys, it’s already full…

I’m Not Coming Back by Husky [live session]
We already knew Husky thanks to their cover of Tame Impala’s Let It Happen, but we did not imagine that their own music was that good. I’m Not Coming Back from their last release Ruckers Hill (2014) is a great example of their talent for melody-making and voice harmonies. Here in acoustic session for Live At The Bridge :
Open Season by Josef Salvat
It is not one of Indeflagration most frequent habits to review pop songs. But listening to Open Season by Sydney-born musician Josef Salvat, we felt an irresistible desire to share it with you. Another artist signed on Liberation Music, like Husky, which makes us think we are not done liking their roster. You’ve probably already heard Open Season on the radio, but we don’t care. This song is a gift, and the video is even better:
