If we had to select only one tune this month, it would certainly be this one: Walkin’ Around by Jade Imagine, released on the label Our Golden Friend. The Melbourne band is centered around the singer Jade McInally, other members being Tim Harvey, Liam ‘Snowy’ Halliwell and Jen Sholakis.
We heard this song for the first time on Triple J (what a surprise) some weeks ago and shazamed it. Then we forgot it. Then we looked one day at our Shazam tags altogether and unearthed multiple jewels including this most preeminent one.
After approximately 117 listenings, we decided that the time had come to share it with you.
Walkin’ Around by Jade Imagine, so good
4 chords. That is all it seems to take to make a great tune theses days. Well, not exactly… First, there are discreet but very important variations on the course of Walkin’ Around. Second, what makes the tune from Jade Imagine catchy resides also in the bass part and mostly how the singing part is placed.
Finally, the production is simple but just perfect, and it’s not that often the case.

Jade Imagine’s first EP What The Fuck Was I Thinking will be out on famous Aussie record label Milk Records (Courtney Barnett…) in March 2017. Wait a second, we are in March 2017! Guess we’ll have to wait a bit more…
We do not believe a tour is planned soon for Jade Imagine, but if one is coming we will tell you as soon as it is announced. In the meantime, join their Facebook page not to miss any news.
